1. Facilities multiple-scalable decisions: Across geographic scales (from hilltop to ocean), across organizational scales (regulator, bulk water supplier, water utilities,..) and across jurisdiction levels (National, Regional and Local).

2. Water matching, from user to sources. WatERP improves matching of water supply distribution and demand from a holistic point of view (IWRM).

3. Subsystems that control and manage the production, management and consumption of water will be interconnected through both standardized information architecture and intelligent infrastructure.

4. A web-based Open Management Platform (OMP) for water resource managers integrating near real-time knowledge from building blocks (DSS & DMS) and supported by an ontology driven knowledge base on water supplies and water usage.

5. Project validation in 2 opposite pilots: Ter-Llobregat Basin (SP), representing a water-stressed region and Karlsruhe area (GER), depicting a more water-rich region.

"WatERP presents a new concept to exchange supply and consumption knowledge across the entire water supply distribution chain. It will thus provide a major contribution to: i) improve coordination among actors, ii) foster behavioural change, iii) reduce water and energy consumption, iv) optimize water accountability and v) move forward water management in line with the Water Framework Directive (WFD)"
 
 
 
WatERP is member of ICT4Water (http://ict4water.eu) that is a group of ICT and water management oriented projects, all co-funded by the European Commission, which common goal is to establish a thriving and interconnected Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for the Water sector.
